Carla E. Reyes' work is inspired by primitive art forms, the natural world, and the artist's imagination. The highly textural surfaces are created using organic materials such as leaves, dried plant material, sand, moss, and tree branches. The artist is driven by the physical experience of art making and the creation of work that communicates in a very visceral and primitive way.

Ms. Reyes is a graduate of The Fashion Institute of Technology's Art Restoration and Fine Art Programs. Her work has been exhibited in venues throughout New York City, the outer boroughs and Long Island, including The Construction Company, The Museum at FIT, 450 Broadway Gallery, 2/20 Gallery, and The Stage Gallery. She has been featured in NY Arts Magazine and regional publications including Merrick Life and The Queens Courier.
