CHRIS WOLTMANN's music has been performed in this country and in Europe by the ensembles Talujon, Aereopagitica Trio, S.E.M. Ensemble, and the Manhattan Brass Quintet, by soloists Theresa Salomon and Marc Peloquin, and by his own ensemble, among others. His work often employs slowly-developing sound masses and has been heard in a variety of venues in New York City from CBGB's to Lincoln Center.

He has written extensively for dance and has collaborated with many choreographers including Olga Tragant, Jeffrey Bauer, Bryan Hayes, Elke Rindfleisch, and Andrea Haenggi. These pieces have been performed in New York City at the Joyce SoHo, St. Mark's Church, Judson Church, the Construction Company and other venues, and at festivals in Canada, Belgium, Spain, France and Germany. Chris Woltmann holds a Bachelor's degree in Music Composition from the Manhattan School of Music where he studied with Erik Lundborg, Giampaolo Bracali, Ronald Caltabiano and Joel Feigin. He is a co-founder of the new music presenting organization, Music Under Construction.
